The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Cross River Basin Development Authority, Hon Eseme Eyiboh has called on all Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of sacrificial love, which is the central theme of the Christian Easter celebration. He said that such love transcends all other considerations in the relationship between man as a spiritual and physical being in God’s universe. Hon Eyiboh stated this in his Easter goodwill message to Nigerians, made available to National Newstrack.
He called on Nigerians to relive the sacrificial life of Christ in “our relationship with our fellow human beings; our relationship with our country and in our understanding of our place in the universal brotherhood of man.”
The erstwhile House of Representatives Spokesman, stated that Christ died for man, irrespective of all the human faults and failings, adding that such sacrifice was needed in the country to “heal perceived injuries, replace hate with love; entrenched prejudices with understanding and ethnic bigotry with national pride.”
“As Christ sacrificed Himself for the good and health of humanity, let us show National fidelity and eternal love for our country by our attitude to our fellow country men and our attitude to our country. We have to join hands with Mr. President to lift our country to a higher height by our love for fellow Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious or regional biases and our attitude to nation building”, he noted.
“May the season and its reason bring the attendant opportunities it offers and enrich your heart desires with peace, health, love, discipline and productivity. May the season bring with it the appropriate discernment to overcome the prejudices of our individual and collective weaknesses. Happy Easter season to us all in God’s clan,” he concluded.
