A United States based Sports Television Network, Fox Sports is expected in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to be part of the crowd billed to watch the World Cup match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and their Argentina Counterpart.
This intention was disclosed by Matt Engelberg, of Fox Sports in response to a Twit by David Augustine in his Twitter handle, @davaugustn, that featured photographs of the massive crowd that watched the Nigeria v. Iceland match at the Ibom Plaza amphitheater.
Responding to the twit, Matt Engelberg, twitted, “Hi David, my name is Matt from Fox Sports in the USA. We’re interested in sending a camera crew to do a live “look-in” on the next Watch Party on June 26. We’d love to feature Nigeria’s supporters on American TV. Thank you!”
The Fox Sports “Look-in” on match day, June 26, 2018 is expected to add pep to the supporters’ enthusiasm as recorded in about four public viewing centers in Uyo city.
It will be recalled that a record crowd of Supper Eagles supporters, including top state government officials, legislators and Local Government Officials, thronged the Ibom Plaza amphitheater, recently refurbished by the Udom Emmanuel administration in time for the 2018 World Cup tournament in Russia, to watch the make or break Nigeria v. Iceland game. Nigeria won the important match by two goals, scored by Ahmed Musa, to gain four vital points at Russia 2018.
