The General-Overseer of Abundance Palace Christian Centre, Port Harcourt, Pastor (Prince) Mendy Archibong has received the “Beacon of Light” Award.
The Award was conferred on him on Sunday by the Apostolic Church, Uyo Field led by the Field Superintendent, Apostle I. N. George at the Field Headquarters, Obio Imo Street Uyo.
Presenting the Award to Prince Mendy Archibong, Apostle George said the recipient was selected on merit, based on his standing in the Christian faith and what he was using his various humanitarian organizations to achieve for humanity.
Reacting to the development, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of Prince Archibong Life Foundation, stated that he was not surprised to have made the list of awardees, having not been a member of the Apostolic Church.
He explained that there is no hiding place for a golden fish, justifying his selection for the honour.
Mendy Archibong who believed that life was all about making impact, especially in reaching out to the underprivileged, used the occasion to thank the Church for the recognition, while giving the assurance that he would continue to touch lives and live a conscious life to the glory of God.
His words, “Anyone who has the light of God in him cannot be hidden. I have the light of God in me. That’s why I have been identified and recognized with this award.
“This is not the first time I’m being honoured with an award. In my community, I was also honoured as the best pastor.
The award of “Beacon of Light” conferred on me by the Apostolic Church, Uyo Field, is an encouragement and will spur me to do more for humanity.
“My humanitarian service is also speaking for me all over Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
“This Award means a lot to me. It has added value to my life. It has also shown that people are seeing what God is using me to do in our society.
“I am very grateful to God and I must sincerely thank the Church for taking notice of what God is doing for humanity through the ministry and our foundation. God being on our side, we shall continue in doing good.”
