Work is in progress at the Social Affordable Housing Estate, a federal government housing project at Ikot Ntuen Nsit in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Architect Ezekiel Nya-Etok, the Principal Partner of Novone
Consult Limited said work is at advanced stage as he conducted journalists round the buildings over the weekend.
Nya-Etok stated that the housing which comes with full onsite infrastructure, is the lowest in the country, while saying beneficiaries ranging from those who partook in balloting 10 years back, civil servants to the general public would pay N7 million, N7.5 million and N8 million respectively.
Arc. Nya-Etok explained that the 3-bedroom
semidetached bungalows with guest toilets is being put up in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), calling on interested members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity of what he believes would be the legacy of his retirement.
His words, “This will be the most beautiful and prime estate in South of Nigeria. We are working with Family Home Funds (FHF) to see firsthand buyers but people should not wait for everything to be packaged for them. They should take advantage of this opportunity now. I have reached my retirement age and since I will be living in this estate and my firm managing the facilities, I want this to be my legacy.”
It could be recalled that the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, HE Babatunde Fashola (SAN), together with his full technical team had recently visited the site where he assessed the level of work done and registered his impression on the professionalism which the Novone Consult Limited has brought to bare in executing the project.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State Government through the Ministry of Housing and Special Duties has commended Novone Consult, the consulting firm handling the Social Affordable Housing Estate Project over the standard of job done so far.
The Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Akan Okon who lauded the company, when he stopped over at the site, promised to visit it with his team after the Easter Season.
