It was songs, funfair and motivational chit-chat, penultimate week, when Renowned Gospel reggae artist, Buchi, donated computers and established a music training center at the Prize-Giving and Fund Raising Day of the Fundamental International Schools at Ikot Akpabio, Etinan local government area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Deacon Buchi, who was father of the day at the occasion, had kind words for the school, for not only naming her computer block after him, but for giving him the opportunity to give back something to the society.
“This is the second time in my life I have been given such an opportunity to impact on young lives. The first was at Stephen Center at Abeokuta, where children that witnessed the killing of their parents in the north where readdressed for their education and general upbringing. I have always subscribed to the view that our children are our hope for tomorrow and therefore deserve sound education, the kind that Fundamental International is engaged in”
Guests were thrilled with Rhymes from the Reception class made up of pupils between the ages of three and five and all present were left laughing and clapping in sheer excitement, borne out of good presentation and demonstration.
The presentation by the pupils prompted Rev. Uko Joshua Emmanuel, a guest invited by Buchi to offer financial assistance to fifty (50) widows that have wards in the school, including the provision of complete Christmas attires for the fifty (50) pupils.
In her vote of thanks, Deaconess Blessing Eka, the Proprietress of the school, who was visibly overwhelmed by the turn-out and display of support that rained on the school, thanked everyone present for making the day a memorable event. She promised to maintain the standard of the school and to put into good use all that have been given to the school, saying that ‘to whom much is given, much is expected’.
