Lions Clubs International Begin New Service Year with Thanksgiving, Empowerment


The Lions of Region 7, District 404A2, Nigeria has held a Thanksgiving and Dedication Service to kick-start its new service year.

The event was recently held at the Methodist Church of Nigeria (Lady Doris Amana Memorial Cathedral), Oyubia, in Urue Offong Oruko LGA of Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking at the event, the Region 7 Chairperson, Lion Ben Oyombio highlighted the sole purpose of Lionism and the necessity for a united force in the service of humanity.

He explained that the Club is a humanitarian and service organization which is keen at taking care of the needy.

The Chairperson added that the entire team was grateful to God and the District Governor, Lion Lynda Odu-Okpeseyi, PMJF, NLCF, for the platform given to them as the Region to commence the 2021/2022 Lions Service Year.

He called on officials and members to be dedicated and committed to the core values of the organization, as such was the only sure way to success.

Highpoints of the event was empowerment of women and support for community infrastructural development.

The ceremony witnessed a session of inaugural meeting and Leadership Training undertaken by Lion Esu Amba, MJF, NLCF.

The event as well featured a presentation of 2020/2021 awards by the immediate past Region Chairperson, Lion Ita Nyong, MJF, NLCF.

The Chairperson, Lion Ben Oyombio, NLCF, also presented Appointment Letters to 2021/2022 Region Officers.
