Police Nabs Two Suspected Fake Lawyers With The Help Of NBA Ikorodu

Two suspected fake lawyers were today arrested by the officers of the Nigeria Police in Ikorodu, Lagos State at the instance of the Ikorodu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Previously, the branch, acting throught its Human Rights and Pro Bono Committee headed by Prince A.B. Ladega, had successfully secured the conviction of three fake lawyers in the Ikorodu environs.

Confirming the arrest, the Publicity Secretary of the branch, Ademola Adenaike stated that “the committee decided to bide its time with respect to the arrest of Mr. Aguatime Aboh. Suspicion regarding his eligibility and qualification as a lawyer first emerged about five months ago.

But having previously secured the conviction of three charlatans on behalf of the branch, you would agree the chairman of the committee, Prince A.B. Ladega is no longer a green horn in the fight against impostors and charlatans in the legal profession.

On how the suspected fake lawyer was arrested, Adenaike said “Mr. Aboh was challenged by the Chairman of the committee who promptly sought the intervention of the police upon the failure of the suspected fake lawyer to establish he was duly called to the Nigerian Bar”.

On the fate of the two suspected fake lawyers, Adenaike confirmed that Mr. Aboh will be arraigned in court tomorrow while police intensifies investigation in respect of the second suspect whose identity is yet to be divulged..

The Ikorodu branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, under the leadership of Mr. Levi Chukwuka Adikwaone is reputed for its determination to sanitize the legal profession.
